Synopsis

The rebellious city of Antigonea is subdued by the 13th Roman legion led by Lucius Suetonius. After making a pact with the city, Suetonius leaves Lucius Silla in charge. Silla does not honor the agreement, and to prevent the destruction of the city, the beautiful Fabiola agrees to live with Silla, who sends her betrothed, the mighty Brenno, to gladiator school. Brenno plans a revolt which fails, but in a great spectacle in the arena he defeats all challengers and escapes death between racing chariots. He then claims the right to man-to-man combat with Silla; and Suetonius, who has recently returned to Antigonea, orders him into the arena. Silla is killed, and Suetonius frees Brenno, who is reunited with Fabiola.
