Synopsis

When wealthy scions Pat Bradley, daughter of the owner of Bradley Motors, and Kip Henderson, son of the president of Henderson Aircrafts, merge romantically, businessmen anticipate a parallel merger of the two companies. One stockbroker in particular, Steward Ives III, nervously charts the course of the two companies' stocks as they rise and fall in accordance with the fluctuations in Pat and Kip's relationship. Then the two announce their engagement, and the stocks soar. To escape the elaborate wedding Mrs. Bradley has planned, Pat and Kip decide to elope, and their disappearance once again causes the stocks to plummet. After they choose their friend, the neophyte physician J. Roger Mace, to witness their wedding, the three spend the evening together celebrating. The next morning, as Roger prepares to board a boat to South America, where he will carry out his medical research, Pat and Kip suddenly decide to take their honeymoon trip on board, and Roger buys them perfume and a shaving kit as wedding presents. Within days, Pat begins to sneeze uncontrollably whenever she is near her husband, and Roger, diagnosing the malady as an allergy to Kip, suggests that Pat accompany him to to an allergy sanitarium in Buenos Aires. Kip, though jealous, agrees to stay in Rio de Janeiro, and after a few weeks Pat is pronounced cured. When Kip visits her, however, she immediately begins to sneeze again. Roger suggests they stay separated, an idea which causes fighting and even threats of divorce between the couple. In desperation, Roger and Pat trick Kip into visiting a different sanitarium, where he is tested for various allergy-causing germs and kept under guard by the burly Max. Just when Pat thinks she cannot stand any more separation, she accidentally uses some Kip's shaving soap, and a sudden sneezing fit reveals the cause of her allergies to be the shaving kit. As the happy couple sails toward home, Kip shows off his new beard, while Ives celebrates joyfully.
