Synopsis
Ginger, a 20-year-old window cleaner working at a hospital in London, is a devoted girl-chaser who shares his women with his best friend, Dwyer. While Ginger is at a pub with Babette, a nurse at the hospital, Dwyer becomes infatuated with Jill, an innocent-looking young woman. He begins to pursue her by dating her roommate Carole, and eventually he persuades her to go out with him. Meanwhile, Ginger is taking care of the house and pets of Old Gunge, a patient in the hospital, and moves into the elderly man's mansion along with his pregnant sister, her husband, Issur, and Issur's mistress, Jocasta. One evening Ginger returns to the mansion with Jill to find that Issur is holding a wild party. He asks Dwyer to take care of Jill while he gets rid of the rowdy guests and returns to discover that Dwyer has seduced Jill. Ginger's troubles increase when Issur runs away with Jocasta, and Old Gunge comes home to find his house a disaster. Sis is allowed to stay on as the housekeeper, but Ginger is banished. Jill visits Ginger and informs him that she is pregnant, and Ginger agrees to marry her. Jill's domineering mother immediately insists that they live with her. The baby's birth further discourages Ginger, and he has a drunken sexual encounter with his mother-in-law, who henceforth caters to his every need. Back to his old ways again, Ginger sees a pretty waitress at lunch and takes pursuit.
