Synopsis
After their wagon train is attacked by outlaws and their parents killed, Jimmy and Jack, two young brothers, are separated in the raid. Jimmy is abducted by the renegades and Jack adopted by a band of roving Indians. Years later, the wagon master Buckskin meets Jack, now an honorable young man known as Cherokee, and the two men team up to avenge the death of Jack's parents. The brothers' paths cross once again when Jimmy, now the outlaw leader known as the Kansas Kid, is leading an unsuspecting wagon train headed by Jeff Masters and his daughter Mary into an ambush at Rainbow Canyon. Unaware that the Kid is his long-lost brother, Cherokee avoids the ambush by safely shepherding the wagons to the town of Wagon Springs, where Masters is planning to establish a freight line. Meanwhile, the Kid and his gang plan to rob a shipment of gold and decide to eliminate Cherokee before he can interfere with their plans again. To accomplish their scheme, the gang makes a prisoner of Bucksin, who then overhears Buff and Lex, two of the outlaws, discussing how they killed the Kid's parents. Soon after, Cherokee gallops into camp to rescue Buckskin, and as he and the Kid prepare for a showdown, Buckskin tells them that they are brothers, and the Kid, who had always believed that the Indians had killed his parents, learns that Buff, a member of his own gang, was the real murderer. As the rest of the gang attack Master's freight wagons, the brothers join forces to wipe out Buff and the others. In the ensuing gun battle, the Kid is mortally wounded, but meets his death with the knowledge that his parents have been avenged.
