Synopsis

Dante's "The Divine Comedy" brought to life using hundreds of highly detailed handcrafted puppets. The story follows young Dante as he wakes up after a night of debauchery only to find he is lost in some strange part of town. He quickly runs into the Roman poet Virgil who convinces Dante that his only choice is to follow him down under the city and through the depths of hell. Once in the underworld Virgil treats Dante to a tour of a hell that strangely resembles the decayed landscape of modern urban life. There they cross paths with sinners of all kinds suffering all kinds of horrible tortures, from heads sewn on backwards to endless rounds of sex. By the time Dante emerges out of the nine circles of hell he is a transformed man who is hopefully ready to make some changes for the better in his life.
