Synopsis

Holland, late 1970s: With her parents in the middle of a fiercely contested divorce--preoccupied, like so many others of the Me Generation, with 'finding themselves'--there's no one around to pay attention to 14-year-old Heleen as she undergoes the awkward, occasionally painful transformation from girl to woman. Unsure of how to negotiate this unfamiliar new landscape, and touchingly unfamiliar with the lines dividing love, sexuality and friendship, Heleen simply plunges in--with devastating consequences.
