Synopsis
He was doomed to die, but survived to avenge the destruction of his tribe. The last man of the Gray Dog tribe becomes a powerful warrior, calling himself Wolfhound. He escapes death in an underground mine and sets off on a journey with his partner, Nonflying Mouse. Wolfhound is possessed by his desire to wreak vengeance on Cannibal, who destroyed the Gray Dog village. Wolfhound makes his way to his enemy's castle and avenges himself upon Cannibal. While he is there, he frees two captives: the wise man Tiloran and the slave woman Niilit. Together, they reach Galirad, a town in the grip of troubled times. The city's headman hopes to save the city from ruin by giving his daughter Elen in marriage to the young warrior Vinitar, who has promised to defend Galirad. Elen is facing a long journey to the land of her future husband, and asks Wolfhound to be her bodyguard during the dangerous expedition. When he agrees, Wolfhound is pulled in to a maelstrom of curious events that begin to shed light on the true purpose of the journey.
