Synopsis
The Depierraz family was shattered fourteen years ago. Nowadays, everyone leads their life on their own and they talk little, or not at all. Even Vinh, their adoptive son, has distanced himself and despite the announcement of his wedding, nothing is set to change. But his Vietnamese mother will change everything as she has decided to come to Switzerland. She will finally meet the family who welcomed and raised her child, this family immortalized by a photograph sent twenty years earlier. But between this happy and prosperous image and the current relational disaster lies a gap of which Mrs Nguyen is not aware. Jacques, the son, sees this as an opportunity for reuniting the family and commences a quest to glue back the broken pieces. When necessary, he lies or manipulates to make sure that his parents and his sister will help save appearances, to be the perfect family once again for a few days, as on the photograph taken when Vinh arrived. This ideal family portrait where everyone tries to play their part does not last for long. The wedding celebration turns sour. It is time for Mrs. Nguyen to take another photograph.
