Synopsis

Rachel Johannes, a young aspiring restaurateur living in Los Angeles, is forced to revisit her complex and troubling past when her abusive father dies unexpectedly on the family farm in her small Midwestern hometown. Though initially drawing comfort from her younger sister Izzy when she arrives for the funeral, Rachel comes to understand that their shared trauma from the past affects them both powerfully in their current lives. The sisters are thrown even more off balance by the sudden arrival of their brother, Yale, long estranged from the family. Though the 3 share a bond of mutual experiences and family ties, long-buried emotions, and painful memories, a darker secret gradually surfaces and threatens to drive them further apart. This is a highly compelling film which reminds us that when you bury the truth---it can come back to haunt you.
