Synopsis

A non-fiction tale that follows Virgil Frye and his daughter, actor and director Soleil Moon Frye, on a riveting cross-country oddyssey. The film charts their journey along a winding route: through New Mexico where he helped make Easy Rider, to New Orleans where he charmed the ladies with his uncanny Elvis impersonation, to Alabama where he spoke out for Civil Rights, to the Iowa corn fields, where he earned his nickname "Sonny Boy" and became a Golden Gloves champion. As the snapshots of his life pass them by, father and daughter attempt to reconcile their difficult past and deal with the pain of worsening Alzeheimer's disease. It's a race against time, a raw and often joyous struggle before his memories are forever lost.
