Synopsis

Gwennie Thomason has called her brothers and sisters back to their childhood home for a family emergency. Gwennie has been holding down the family fort with their grandmother Gray Peg since their parents were killed in a car crash sixteen years prior. They have not been together in one place in over a decade, and there are lots of reasons why: Big brother Garth is now a hotshot lawyer, older sister Becca has turned Thomason family dysfunction into a bestselling volume of short stories, middle sister Stace compensates for what she deems as this "unfairness" in her work as a resentful group therapist, while youngest brother Mickey is a recovering alcoholic and civil servant who can't seem to get his bearings straight. The grown children hurry back to their island homestead thinking Gray Peg is about to die. Despite the immediacy of the situation, the friction between the siblings picks up right where it left off, until Gwennie drops a bomb on them that will forever change the way they relate with each other.
