Synopsis
Mousy Maria and swaggering, paternalistic Walter wheel Dad home from the hospital when a stroke leaves him paralyzed. They move into his cramped apartment, where Maria is supposed to wait on him hand and foot when not praying in church or servicing Walter's needs. Eventually, the situation becomes too much for Maria to handle when her father's need for her attention conflicts with her husband's expectations. Soon her husband's insensitivity and lack of support turns abusive and Maria starts to turn into a bad girl herself.
