Synopsis
The Ritchie Boys were a secret unit of the US Army during the Second World War. The unit consisted mostly of young Germans, some of them of Jews, that had found a new homeland in America after their flight from the Nazis. The unit got its name from where they did their training, Camp Ritchie, Maryland. On D-Day, the Ritchie Boys' Unit delivered information important to the allied troops. They interrogated German prisoners and defectors, gathered information on troop strength, movements and the morale. The Ritchie Boys sketched leaflets that were dropped behind enemy lines, they even went into the heat of battle with a loudspeker, demanding the Germans' surrender. They were also on hand for the liberation of some of the camps, serving as translators and interpreters. also in the opening of the concentration camps at the same time - and as experts and interpreter at the nuremberg residents processes.
