Synopsis
Ranging from TV pilots to film festival favorites, these shorts offer audiences a chance to catch rarely-seen work from some of the sharpest comedy writers in show business, assembled together for the first time ever in this program. Among the films in the program are "Deadline: Now," a news parody pilot developed for Fox by Daily Show executive producer Ben Karlin and writers for The Onion; Nick Poppy's "Zombie American," with Daily Show correspondent Ed Helms as a down-to-earth undead guy; Scott Jacobson's "Partners in Blues," an exploration of the art of oppressed musicians, starring Gregory Hollimon ("Strangers with Candy") and several Daily Show writers; Chris Regan and Eric Drysdale's mockumentary "Sanford van Johnson: A Life Near the Theater," told in high-PBS style; and J.R. Havlan's horror spoof "The Catskills Chainsaw Redemption."
