Synopsis
Phil and Bea, engaged to be married, are experiencing difficulty in resolving their personal conflicts. They gain insight from Eleanor and Jon, a couple with similar problems. Jon, thwarted in his attempts to seduce Eleanor, withdraws into a world of childhood fantasies. His suppressed hostility toward his domineering stepmother, Roberta, and his promiscuous stepsister Sue, whom he blames for his father's death, caused him to rape Eleanor, whom he imagines to be Sue.
