Synopsis

Liliana, a beautiful young woman, is found unconscious, and it is generally believed that she had been robbed and assaulted. The newspapers in the city demand that the police call in a special detective squad to investigate, and Liliana becomes very popular in the course of the uproar. Receptions are held for her, and an ambitious agent helps her become a model and win a beauty contest. One of the three men arrested for the crime is the husband of Anna, a woman who refuses to believe that he is guilty. Liliana disregards all of Anna's appeals to her, and even claims to identify the man. Aldo, a photojournalist who has fallen in love with Liliana, begins to doubt her story, causing her to become perturbed. Liliana finally admits that the incident was a hoax, created purely for publicity.
