Synopsis
The people of a primitive fishing village are divided into two factions. Angela, the daughter of the man who leads one faction and serves a corrupt political boss, falls in love with Bruno, the son of the principled leader. Angela's father kills Bruno's father, and Bruno assumes his father's place. Angela's father attempts to kill Bruno, and Bruno is forced to kill him in self-defense; thus the lovers are separated. The mistress of Angela's father takes control of the corrupt faction and plans to murder two witnesses against the abuses of the corrupt regime. Angela warns Bruno. One witness is killed, but Bruno helps the other to safety across the border. The testimony of the surviving witness will serve to destroy the corrupt regime.
