Synopsis
Famous painter Henri de Louse, grandson of the French artist Toulouse de Louse, and his agent, Sam de Bergerac, are holding a press conference to introduce Henri's latest works. In response to a reporter's question about Henri's career, he and Sam recollect that Henri was once a starving, Greenwich Village artist who painted only fruit and vegetables: Although Henri rationalizes that he can always eat his subjects, Sam tells him that he will never be successful and suggests he paint pretty girls instead. Sam decides to help Henri, who has led a very sheltered life, to see more of the world and expose him to new experiences. After plying him with alcohol, which Henri thinks is a new kind of orange juice, Sam takes him to an intimate nightclub, where Henri revels in the performances of several striptease dancers, singers and dancers and begins sketching furiously. During the evening, while imbibing more and more "orange juice," Henri gains an appreciation of the female form and flirts with a voluptuous young lady at the next table. By the time the show climaxes with a strip routine by Zorita, Henri is convinced that he should become a painter of nude and semi-nude ladies. At the press conference, the male reporters are appreciative of Henri's work but, after they leave, Henri reveals that he has not entirely lost his old interests, as he paints an apple held by a nude model.
