Synopsis
This film presents a stage show from the Follies Theatre in Los Angeles. The striptease dancers are Mickey Kedwell, "The Golden Girl of Burlesque;" Lotus Wing, "The Sweetheart of the Orient;" Hillary Dawn; Peggy Bond, "The Peg of My Heart Girl;" and "The Titian-Haired Charmer" Pat Dorsey. The star of the show, Aleene Dupree, "Sweetheart
of the Folies Bergère," closes the program. Musical numbers include an opening, square dance routine featuring a chorus line of fourteen and an eccentric, "yokel" dance by Lucille Hodges. In another routine, Peggy Bond sings a "Mexican" number while the chorus dances. Included in this routine is a male vocalist who sings "Tie a String Round Your Heart." In the first of two comedy sketches, Mary Miller and a male friend try to trick Harry Arnie into burning himself as he is forced to listen to a long story while lighting a cigarette. In the second sketch, a German general and captain become involved with a captured female spy, clad only in a cape, and a gay private.

Notes
The film's main title includes a copyright statement by Road Show Attractions, but it was not registered for copyright protection. Immediately before the show begins, the following titles appear: "Burlesque is a form of entertainment that is distinctly American yet it is doubtful if many people outside of the larger cities have ever seen a real burlesque show. Therefore it is with great pleasure that we take you now to your seat in America's foremost burlesque theatre, the world famous Follies of Los Angeles, where the show is about to begin. Sit tight.. Here goes the curtain..." The film's end title includes the following notice: Please address all fan mail in care of the Follies Theatre, 337 S. Main St., Los Angeles, Calif.
In the main titles, comedian Harry Arnie is credited as Harry Arne. No contemporary reviews have been located for Hollywood Revels. According to records in the NYSA, in the mid-1950s the film was reissued, apparently with added footage including a shell-game sketch, as "Burlesque Follies." It was reviewed under that title by The Exhibitor in June 1955. According to information in the NYSA file, an alternate reissue title for the film was Striptease Holiday. The film May also have been distributed as Parisienne Follies.
