Synopsis
Widower Andrew Slocum, Sr., and the widowed Mrs. Winkle are bitter rivals in the pickle business. Andrew sends his son Andy to spy on Winkle's factory, while Mrs. Winkle makes plans to steal Andrew's secret pickle formula. At the Winkle's pickle-works, Andy falls in love with Mrs. Winkle's daughter Matilda and, when they elope, Mrs. Winkle decides to work for a truce in her battle with Andrew. An extremely effective negotiator, Mrs. Winkle not only makes peace with Andrew, but gets him to propose as well, so the two families merge their businesses into a huge pickle conglomerate.
