Synopsis

Harold Derwent's compulsive gambling finally drives away his sweetheart, Faith Willis. Several years later, Harold swears off betting, leaves Madge, his gold digging girlfriend, and meets the minister William Ashton on a train. The men marvel at their uncanny resemblance, and when the train crashes, killing William, Harold decides to start life over by impersonating him. When he goes to William's wife, who turns out to be Faith, she recognizes him but decides to go along with the charade because of the good work Harold has vowed to do. After a period of success as a minister, Madge sees Harold and recognizes him and tries to blackmail him into making one more big bet with church funds. Harold barely manages to resist, but then, after confessing to and being forgiven by his congregation, he and Faith get married.
