Synopsis

Senya, a young hunter, is called to hunt two wolves that have been raiding the flocks of a collective farm. Guided by his sympathetic understanding of wildlife, he tracks the wolves to the vicinity of their lair and mows hay nearby so that they will become accustomed to his presence. His unusual methods earn distrust and mockery from some of the other farmers. On the day of the hunt, he finds the lair while the adult wolves are away, captures a cub, and, hiding in the lair, kills the adults when they return.
