Synopsis
The eccentricities of Le Socrate, a philosopher who has divorced himself from materialistic society, attract attention, and a police officer is assigned to trail him. In due course, the policeman becomes a disciple, albeit unwilling, of the philosopher. Alarmed by her father's conversion, the policeman's daughter, aided by her nihilist lover, attracts the attention of the press to Le Socrate. The confrontation with public notoriety, however, destroys the visionary's peace of mind.
