Synopsis

While her husband, Vassilis, is at sea, Athenian fashion model Elena stays with her insane mother, Marianthe, who still mourns the death of her son in World War II. Upon the captain's return the couple vacations at a seaside resort where Elena is irresistibly attracted to the innkeeper, Alexander. Torn by remorse, Elena confesses her infatuation to Vassilis, who beats her and returns home. No longer inhibited by his presence, the couple make love. Elena contritely returns to Athens, pursued by Alexander. Although she agrees to forsake her lover and join her husband on a cruise, Elena has relations with Alexander one final time. Arriving at the docks, she is denounced by her husband, who departs alone.
