Synopsis
Shortly after the widowed Mrs. Gloria Dixon consents to marrying Lathrop, she is killed and he is badly injured in an auto accident. When Gloria, Mrs. Dixon's daughter, hears of this, she leaves school to nurse Lathrop. He dies after having willed his fortune to Gloria and leaving his nephew Burton nothing. Burton blackmails Gloria by disclosing a package of his father's letters which hint at sexual misconduct, all signed Gloria D. Gloria gives up the fortune to avoid scandal and retreats to the home of family friend Saunders. She has a sad affair with Saunders' cousin, but is redeemed in the end when the dying Burton repentantly reveals Lathrop's and Mrs. Dixon's marriage license.
