Synopsis

When the country of Akkadia is overrun by its militant neighbor Turania, war runs rampant and the Turanian officer Carl Sturmar becomes caught up with his brother officers in the pursuit of unbridled lust. Marie, an Akkadian governess, catches his fancy. Struck unconscious while protecting her mistress from insults, Marie awakens to find her sweetheart's brother lying dead beside her. Court-martialed for the murder, Carl testifies that although he had intended to seduce Marie, he came to his senses in time to leave her unharmed and was forced to kill the man in self-defense. The love of Carl and Marie arouses the anger of her former sweetheart who orders Marie shot at sunrise. The executioners are about to carry out their orders when a shell from a Tunarian gun kills them. Reunited, Marie and Carl flee the war-ravaged country.
