Synopsis

Whispering Smith, a railroad detective, meets Marion, a former sweetheart, and her husband, Murray Sinclair. Smith discovers that Sinclair heads a band of railroad thieves, but for Marion's sake Smith does not arrest him. Sinclair and his men rob a train and Smith, with a posse, goes after them, but again for Marion's sake, Smith decides to let Sinclair kill him should the two men fight. Smith catches up with the thieves, is wounded, and then encounters Sinclair, who is killed by a member of the posse just as he is about to shoot Smith.
