Synopsis

Despite his father's deathbed wish that he be kind, Jim Westgard, Jr. grows up feeling resentment toward the Mitchell land syndicate, which took his father's ranch away from him just before he was out of debt. Years pass, and Jim swears vengeance when he hears the syndicate has a claim on the ground where his mine is. Yet Mitchell has died, and his innocent daughter Henrietta, just returned from college, is now in charge. Witnessing Jim bravely save a child from a runaway horse, she falls in love with him. Jim turns aside his hatred later when he rescues Henrietta from outlaws holding her for ransom. But, struggling with his mixed feelings of concern and vengeance, Jim arranges to go away, believing that he had done the right thing and honored his father's memory.
