Synopsis

In India, Major Carr and Captain Morey of the British army both love Marjorie Lansdown. To get rid of Morey, whom Marjorie prefers, Carr has him transferred to the jungle. Carr then intercepts the letters that go between Morey and Marjorie, causing each of them to believe that the other has forgotten about their romance. As a result, Marjorie finally agrees to marry Carr. Meanwhile, Nadje, a Hindu, falls in love with Morey and he reluctantly marries her. Then, when Carr and his fiancée become lost in the jungle during a hunting expedition, Nadje rescues them, and when she brings them to Morey, he and Marjorie quickly clear up the misunderstanding about the letters. From watching Morey and Marjorie together, Nadje realizes that they are in love; and so, to allow them to marry, she goes to a leopard's lair and binds herself to a tree, thus allowing the leopard to kill her.
