Synopsis

Small town voice teacher Myra Fielding moves to the city hoping to start a singing career, but instead she is fooled by Al Wayne, who, posing as a bachelor, gives her money to send to her parents. Afterward, Myra discovers that the money really belonged to Al's wife Edith, and so she vows that, one day, she will pay her back. Years later, Al apparently has been killed, and Edith has remarried Bert Temple, the district attorney. Al reappears, however, and threatens to charge Edith with bigamy if Bert does not stop his attacks on the grafter's who are Al's cronies. Then, Al really is killed, this time, seemingly, by Edith. To repay her debt, Myra confesses to the crime, but just before she is convicted, authorities catch the real killer, who had suspected Al of a double-cross on a shady deal.
