Synopsis

Despite her protests, an old miser sells his beautiful daughter Toru to the local Rajah. Wandering through the woods that day, Toru's beloved Akbar removes a thorn from the paw of an ailing tiger, thereby earning the animal's gratitude and loyalty. When Akbar learns that Toru has been sold into marriage, he steals into the harem and rescues her, but they are recaptured, and Akbar and his tiger are imprisoned. Realizing that the tiger will not harm Akbar, the Rajah releases a lion into the cell, but the tiger kills it. Furious, the Rajah draws his sword and storms into the cage, whereupon the tiger mauls him to death. Following Akbar's escape, Toru is sentenced to the pyre with her dead lord, but her faithful lover summons a band of English soldiers to effect her final rescue.
