Moving easily within high society, he calls himself Detective Danvers during daylight hours. John, the boy reared by his father in luxury, becomes a clergyman and falls in love with Norma Harmon, the daughter of a wealthy banker. Norma, however, loves Danvers, who, aided by his faithful butler, robs the Harmon mansion and the bank. Notes

Some sources indicate that the burglar is a "Raffles" type of character, while others simply call him Raffles. There May be a connection between this film and the character created by Ernest William Harung in his 1899 novel The Amateur Cracksman, but any direct relation to that novel or other works of Harung is doubtful. This film marked the motion picture debut of heavyweight boxing champion of the world James J. Corbett. The film May have been re-released in February of 1915 by the U.S. Amusement Co. under the title The Lady and the Burglar.
