Synopsis

Beginning scenes show the Australian bush country: vast areas of gum trees; giant bush fig trees; fields of orchids; unique vegetation, valley of ferns, vine-clad jungles and thickly wooded hills. Colonel and Mrs. Bailey board the Trans-Australian train and travel through the desert shooting pictures. A variety of bush animals are caught by the close-up lens: platypi, kangaroos (including wallabies), emus. The aborigines are shown constructing a spearhead, and when it is completed the art of throwing spears is displayed; this art is later applied during a kangaroo hunt and in battle. The natives' courtship dance is also shown.
