Synopsis

This burlesque film includes the following acts: Leon De Voe sings a Western song, "Ridin' Shotgun," accompanied by a chorus line of seven dancers and acrobatic dancer Loretta Miller. Next, Slats Taylor and Clyde Hodges are featured in a comedy sketch about a young man seeking permission from an aged, deaf father to marry his daughter. This sketch is followed by Contessa Vera Richkova singing "La nuit pour moi" and performing an "interpretive" dance titled "The Black Angel." De Voe then returns with the chorus and Miller to present "Good Bye Mary." Following De Voe, comedian Clyde Hodges portrays a drunk in a foreign restaurant, then dons blackface to impersonate male and female singers as he sings "Big Fat Cadillac." Female vocalist Patti Waggin sings "Something's Going to Happen" to De Voe, who responds with the song "My Baby Likes Fun." Next, Richkova returns in "her spectacular dance ritual of seductive love and hate." The film closes with Lili St Cyr undressing to take a bath and preparing for bed.

Notes

This film was reviewed in The Exhibitor as Wedding Night Frolics. The main title on the print viewed was Lili's Wedding Night. The opening title cards include the following description of Lili St. Cyr: "America's Most Fabulous Entertainer in her Most Daring Creation Exactly as Presented at the World Famous EL RANCHO VEGAS HOTEL in Las Vegas, Nevada." The opening credits bill her as "Miss Lili St. Cyr." Although the final two sequences, featuring Vera Richkova and St. Cyr, were originally released in color, the print viewed was in black-and-white. These sequences previously circulated as shorts, according to information in copyright files and the The Exhibitor review. The rest of the unrelated material appears older than the 1954 release date and May previously have been used in other films.
