Synopsis

Edison summary: The opening scene shows the Japanese and Russian envoys departing from the foot of 23d street, East River, New York City, for Oyster Bay, Long Island. Baron Komura and Minister Takahira, of the Japanese party, and Mr. Witte and Baron Rosen, of the Russian party, are all readily recognized. The next scene shows the envoys arriving at Portsmouth Navy Yard, and being received by Admiral Mead. All of the distinguished guests are readily recognized. A street procession is followed by the arrival of the Envoys at the Court House. The final scene shows the Envoys leaving the Hotel Wentworth in automobiles for the first conference in the peace negotiations.
