Synopsis

Biograph summary: This is a beautiful production covering an athletic meet at the summer headquarters of the popular New York Athletic Club. The opening scene shows the arrival of the New York trains at the suburban station near the grounds and the departure of the busses and private rigs. Next the crowd of city folks are shown pouring in the main gates of the attractive grounds on Travers' Island. A panoramic view of the water front and the athletic field is given, showing interesting events such as one hundred yard dash, hurdle jumping, hammer throwing, high jumping, pole vault, swimming, etc. After the races another view is given of the crowd, showing various parties having luncheon on the lawn. The film throughout is of extraordinary photographic value, and the whole production is one in which we take a great deal of pride.
