Synopsis

Two Canadian bush pilots, Steve Kirby and Johnny Summers, are partners in a small flying business and are both interested in marrying Arlene Baker. Steve goes to the mountain lodge where Arlene works; the jealous Johnny flies there and violates air regulations by landing on a nearby lake. While Johnny is being held by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Steve is forced to fly his plane without the usual daily mechanical checkup. An oil line fails, and he crash-lands in the bush. For weeks he manages to keep himself alive until he hits upon a desperate scheme. He befriends a family of wild geese and attaches a strip of metal bearing his name to each bird. Winter approaches, and the geese head south. One of them is shot down, and, luckily, the band is turned over to the Air Force. Steve is found barely alive, and he is nursed back to health by Arlene.
