Synopsis
A smalltown girl, who becomes a prostitute in Tokyo to support her sick mother, hopes someday to marry a teacher who has told her that he is single. Actually, he is unhappily married to a woman whose child is not his. The teacher returns to his wife, however, and the prostitute's unhappiness deepens when her uncle squanders funds entrusted to him, her mother dies, and she falls ill herself.
