Synopsis

Niino, a swordsman of exceptional ability, is denied admittance to a house of nobility because the identity of his father is unknown. Frustrated in his desire to become a great warrior, Niino joins a band of outlaws planning to assassinate the Chief Minister, who has been advocating more open relations with Western nations. Niino escapes his own murder by the assassins and finally gains admittance to the minister's palace after a vicious fight with the palace guards. He succeeds in assassinating the minister, only to discover that the dead man was his father.
