Synopsis

Sakiko comes to Tokyo from a small fishing village where her humble parents work in a public bathhouse. Finding work in the city, Sakiko becomes her boss's mistress. He forces her to keep close account of his daily expenses, allowing her no money to spend on herself. After he is arrested for tax evasion, she leaves him and, on the advice of her ballet teacher, takes a job in a sex club where she meets Hyodo, a member of parliament. Not wishing to become involved with her, Hyodo after a time rejects her. Aspiring to a life of luxury, and well aware of her physical attractiveness to both men and women, Sakiko becomes a prostitute after being taught the skills of the profession. One night she picks up a sincere and handsome young man, but he soon flees from her when she forces herself on him too strongly. Alone again, Sakiko returns to the streets.
