Synopsis
During a drought in 16th-century Czechoslovakia Spálený, a charitable miller and amateur scientist, searches for and locates an underground spring. This act of mercy prompts an investigation by the fanatical priest Prokus, an agent of the Inquisition, who suspects that the miller has sold his soul to the Devil.
