Synopsis

Mickey Magone's father is thrown into jail in Turin in the 1850's. Mickey becomes embittered and soon becomes the leader of a gang of boys. He is called the "general" and gets into increasing trouble. The most serious incident happens when, to test their courage, the boys hurl millstones down a hill at blindfolded figures to see if they have enough courage not to move. After incidents like this, Mickey moves into Don Bosco's Boys Town. Here he comes to know himself and with the help of Don Bosco to love God. Mickey goes back to his old home and through personal example brings peace to the gangs of boys.
