Synopsis
During the Franco-Prussian War, French soldier Léon and Prussian combatant Fritz accidentally exchange uniforms while dressing after a swim. The two later present themselves at the farm of an Alsacian peasant and her coquettish granddaughter Marguerite. Despite rivalry aroused by Marguerite, the soldiers become fast friends. When a Prussian regiment arrives they part company, after enjoying a final dip and again exchanging uniforms.
