Synopsis

Socho, a monk in ancient Japan, loses his way on a walk through the forest and comes upon an isolated house. The inhabitants, a voluptuous woman and her husband, an imbecilic dwarf, offer him lodging for the night. The dwarf, a descendant of the Shirafuji clan, has lived in the forest for years and has married on the condition that his wife lure any traveler to their home. After she seduces each man, she transforms him into an animal so that she may be free to lure the next traveler. Socho learns of this horrible practice but finds himself falling in love with the woman; she reciprocates his love and is unable to perform the terrible transformation on him.
