Synopsis

Robert Mans, a young Parisian writer, inherits a small vineyard in Provence. The only other person on the farm is Magali, an attractive maid, who teaches him how to run the vineyard in the hopes that Robert will settle there. Robert forms a friendly, impersonal relationship with Magali, but he spends most of his time with a neighboring farmer's daughter, Lina, with whom he makes frequent visits to a deserted stretch of beach. Lina tries to persuade Robert to sell the vineyard and take her to the city, but Magali intervenes after following the lovers to the beach and engages in a wild tussle with Lina. Finally brought to his senses, Robert breaks off with Lina and decides to stay at the vineyard with Magali.
