Synopsis

Art student June Barton, in love with classmate Jimmy Fuller, unknowingly becomes the object of instructor Najlas Sarto's sexual obsession. Financial difficulties force June to seek work, and she accepts her teacher's offer to pose in the nude at his country home. She tells Jimmy that she must return to her family. As the work progresses, Sarto's self-control grows weaker. His mentally unbalanced housekeeper, Elia, who is also his mistress, smoulders with resentment at June's intrusion, and attempts to strangle the girl. Back in New York, Jimmy discovers that June is not at home in North Carolina, but at Sarto's estate. On the eve of June's departure, Sarto tries to force himself upon his student. Elia goes berserk, strangles Sarto, and accuses June of the murder. Jimmy arrives just in time to save June from the deranged housekeeper.
