Synopsis

Aggie, the devoted protector of her orphaned brother and sister, leads a double life, being driven by uncontrollable sexual urges. Frank, a young friend, regards her as his property, though he continues his search for new conquests. Aggie's own need for illicit adventure leads her to travel into town where another lover awaits her. Violent arguments with Frank always end in passionate reconciliation, but while Aggie is away from the farm, Frank's interest shifts to her inexperienced younger sister. A circus agent asks to post handbills on Aggie's barn. He offers her enough money to buy parts for the tractor her young brother loves, and she concludes the deal by having sex with him. Soon afterwards, she discovers Frank and her sister in the stable; her attempts to dominate the couple lead to their elopement. Unable to renounce Frank, she invites them to live on the farm. She travels to town to satisfy her frustrated desires and finds her lover with another woman. She is picked up in a bar, makes love with a stranger, and then returns home. There her sister surprises her making love with Frank. Infuriated, she pursues Frank with a shotgun as he makes his exit. A motor starts up, she fires, and discovers that she has killed her beloved brother. At daybreak, the sheriff leads her away.
