Synopsis
A tour of modern London begins with the birth of a baby and goes beneath the city's façade of respectability to reveal its primitive, violent undercurrents: the Rockers, riding fast motorcycles, express contempt for the fashion-conscious Mods; beatniks advocate free love; the aggressive arts of judo and kendo gain new popularity; brutal wrestling matches attract large audiences; teenage girls sit in hot water baths in order to shrink their dungarees skin-tight; striptease establishments flourish at every economic level in the West End; young women attend the "London School of Strip" to learn the techniques of the art, and one young graduate rushes from club to club to perform; lavish drinking clubs present a variety of "girlie" shows; and married Londoners attend parties where housekeys are swapped and couples exchange partners for the night.
