Synopsis
"The Preacher," weary of the life of blood and violence which has earned him the reputation as the fastest gunfighter alive, arrives in Reata Pass, a small town where he hopes to begin a new life. Several townspeople seek his assistance: Melody, a Reata Saloon dancehall girl whose former romance with her unscrupulous employer, Rafe, is proving to be a threat to her newfound love for Preacher; the minister, who wants his church saved; and Sloan, who wishes to hire Preacher to protect his ore shipments. Preacher's attempt to lay down his guns is scorned by many of the townspeople, and they eventually taunt him into battle once again. Following a showdown in the churchyard, Preacher finally lays down his guns and turns to Melody to begin a new life.
