Synopsis
This documentary includes a series of on-stage performances by a number of singers and groups, purportedly filmed in Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii, and Australia. These sequences are intercut with ones representing current myths, images, and ideas of the youth culture. Besides a fashion show featuring Twiggy and an interview with Mick Jagger, lead singer of the Rolling Stones, there are: an interview with and character study of Emperor Rosko, a European disc jockey, sequences of surfers in the Pacific, protesters on the streets of the United States, and vagabond youths traveling in Katmandu. The following numbers are included, either live on-stage, or on the sound track over the various montage sequences: "Relax Me" (The Groove), "Jumping Jack Flash" and "2,000 Light Years From Home" (The Rolling Stones), "Hey, Joe" and "Wild Thing" (Jimi Hendrix), "To Love Somebody" (The Bee Gees), "Respect" and "Satisfaction" (Otis Redding), "Itchykoo Park" and "Lazy Sunday" (Small Faces), "Heroes and Villains" (The Beach Boys), "Everybody Ought To Sing a Song" (Johnny Farnham), "With a Little Help From My Friends (Joe Cocker), "Albatross" (Stevie Winwood and Traffic), "The Beat Goes On" (Vanilla Fudge), "Sonata in F Major" (Sebastian Jorgensen and Tim Walker), "Gimme Some Lovin'" (Stevie Winwood and Spencer Davis), "The Real Thing" (Russell Morris), and "Have You Tried Love?" (The Fifth Dimension).
